On February 17th, 1600, Giordano Bruno was burned on the stake, condemned by the tribunal of the Inquisition because of his revolutionary ideas on the plurality of worlds, the unity of substance and the infinity of the universe.
He is probably one of the founders of modern (and free) thought.
On February 17th, 2013, 413 years from the pyre, Ritiri Filosofici recalled the philosopher with a reading of prof. Filippo Mignini, professor at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Macerata, a deep expert on the thought of Giordano Bruno and Baruch Spinoza.
A tribute to freedom of thought and to whom, for it, sacrificed his life.
